Slant of Light is a new grassroots company, all positions are currently
on a volunteer basis. We are looking for individuals who are interested
in coming on board to help to build the company with us from the ground
up. Although unpaid, this is a unique opportunity to be a part of
something spectacular from the beginning. Hours are flexible, and all
positions will have the opportunity to become paying jobs in the
future.
AUDITIONS
"Veils" by Tom Coash
Part of SOL's New Play Reading Series
Intisar-Female, African American Muslim, 18-25 years old, wears
a veil (hijab) that is wrapped snugly around her head
covering her hair but not her face. "Inti" is a strong-
willed, intelligent, fiercely emotional young woman who
is doing a year abroad at the American University in
Cairo. She is a Middle-Eastern Studies major. She is a
practicing Muslim and has been since birth.
Samar-Female, Egyptian Muslim, 18-22 years old, does not wear
a veil. Samar dresses in chic, western clothes, modestly
dressed when she goes out, not so modest at home or
among friends. She is also a student at AUC and studying
journalism. Well off, cosmopolitan, speaks Arabic,
French and English. Very friendly, very outgoing.
